Heading home |
Islamorada, Florida, site of this years Catamaran North American Championships. Roland and I took the time to sail down to the Championships this afternoon, however, we were not prepared for the sail home. The sail down was fast and uneventful, not true for the sail home. After the races, we expected the wind, per NOAA weather forecast, to subside in the afternoon, not! As we turned to head home, we were headed by some very strong wind from the NE, we estimated the gusts to be around 30 Kts. Roland stopped in Cowpens to put in a second reef, while I opted to sail on with one. Long story short, we made it home and are now preparing for a three day cruise starting on Monday.
