Happy S. Patrick's Day

O'Dwyer family crest

O'Dwyer family history
Although the name Best (on my fathers side)  is English, the other side of my ancestry (my mothers side)  is Dwyer, originally O'Dwyer, each year I celebrate St. Patrick's day out of respect for my mother and her heritage. I hope you enjoy this Bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace.  Erin go Bragh, the English translation...Éireann go Brách, the Gaelic translation, meaning Ireland forever.

  1. Thanks for adding the crest and history. I always get misty when I hear Amazing Grace on the bagpipe.

  2. My Favorite as well. Did you know that the tune originated on a Black Slave ship. I have a great web site that describes the whole story and how the lyrics were put to the music (actually started as a hymn.

  3. We live in Surf City on Long Beach Island and a neighbor on the bay a few blocks south of us would play this at sunset every evening in the summer. How I miss that!
