FISHING ON THE OCEAN SIDE

Wayne and his closed season Grouper
Finally, the wind has abated, my friend Tony Santomauro called and invited Wayne, Paul and I to fish the reefs in the morning and then try our luck with Sailfish in the afternoon. The reef provided us with the most action of the day, while trolling the first reef, I hooked up with several Cero Mackerel while Wayne boated a nice Grouper. *Grouper is a closed season fish, so back he went. The Grouper was caught on a medium running, diving plug. The fish initially scurried for some rocks, their normal defense against being reeled in, it was successful until Tony turned the boat and enabled Wayne to haul him out from the opposite direction.
